Amber Hill Shelties is located in Coventry, Rhode Island. We are a small hobby breeder consisting of a husband and wife team that are passionate about Shetland Sheepdogs. We are members of the Colonial Shetland Sheepdog Club and currently serve on the Board of Directors. We both participate in the grooming, training and handling of our show dogs. We consider all of our dogs to be a part of the family and treat them like pampered pets. When our dogs are not in the show ring they can be found playing with our kids, out on a hike, or just relaxing with us in the family room .
We typically produce only one litter a year. Each litter is carefully planned and thought out. Our goal is to breed a balanced Sheltie with a good temperament and structure true to the standard. If you are interested in an Amber Hill puppy, please contact us for more information.
January 19, 2020 - At the Wilmington MA show, GCh Amber Hill Sea Cruiser 'Victor' wins BOB for 5 points, OHG1, Owner Handled Best In Show (handled by Ann) and then a Group 2 (111 dogs defeated) under Judge Karen Hynek. Victor ran consecutively from ring to ring four times with no break to end the day. The Group was down to the last 3 herding dogs when we entered the ring after exiting the OH Best in Show ring.

September 28, 2019 - Day two at Romulus GCh Amber Hill Sea Cruiser 'Victor' repeats his performance of the previous day picking up 5 more points with a Select under Judge Ann Yuhasz and an OHG3.
September 27, 2019 - Judge Janina Laurin awarded GCh Amber Hill Sea Cruiser 'Victor' a 5 point Select over several Specials and Amber Hill Wave Rider a Major Reserve. Victor also won an OHG3. We had a nice getaway weekend at the Wine Country Shows in Romulus, NY. We managed to slip out between ring times to visit some great Wineries.
September 15, 2019 - Victor had another good show on day 3. GCh Amber Hill Sea Cruiser won BOB and OH Group 1 under Sheltie Breeder Judge Jennie Hynes. Amber Hill Wave Rider was WD.
September 14, 2019 - GCh Amber Hill Sea Cruiser 'Victor' won BOB and Ch Amber Hill Halley's Comet O'Revere was OS at day two on the Cape under Judge Gene Liepmann. Victor also won OH Group 2
September 13, 2019 - GCh Amber Hill Sea Cruiser won BOB at Cape Cod under Judge Linda Clark for 5 points. Amber Hill Halley's Comet O'Revere owned by Kat Charette and handled by Debra Denardo won a 3 point major to finish and went BOS to Victor. Congratulations to New Champion Ch Amber Hill Halley's Comet O'Revere, Kat and Debra!!! Halley is the forth Champion whelped by GChB Amber Hill Ocean's Pearl. She is sired by GCH Laureate Invincible.
September 8, 2019- GCh Amber Hill Sea Cruiser won BOB in Nashua NH under Judge Danielle Brown for 4 points. He also won OH Group 2.. Amber Hill Wave Rider was RWD.
August 18, 2019- New Title!!! Amber Hill Oceans Jewel was Judge Michael Faulkers choice for BOB over 5 very nice Specials in Boxborough to become a Grand Champion. Congratulations to GCh Amber Hill Oceans Jewel.
August 10, 2019- GCh Amber Hill Sea Cruiser was Select for 5 GCh points under Kenneth Rayner at Balston Spa.
August 9, 2019- GCh Amber Hill Sea Cruiser had a great show in Ballston Spa under Judge Dianne Miller. Victor was BOB for 5 points with 5 specials competing. He then went on to win Group 3 (84 Dogs Defeated) and OH Group 2. Amber Hill Wave Rider was RWD.
August 3rd, 2019- GCh Amber Hill Sea Cruiser is Select for 3 points under Judge Nancy Simmons at the Pioneer Valley KC.
July 28, 2019- In day two at the Rhode Island show, Amber Hill Oceans Jewel was BOB under Judge Roger Hartinger and also won OHG3.
July 27, 2019- Amber Hill Oceans Jewel was BOB under Judge Barbara Dempsey Alderman for 4 points in the Rhode Island show. She also won OHG3.
June 30, 2019- Amber Hill Wave Rider was Judge Elizabeth Muthard's choice for WD/BOS for two more points. Victor was Select.
June 29, 2019- New Title!!! GCh Amber Hill Sea Cruiser 'Victor' finishes his Grand Championship by going BOB over four specials for 5 points in Wrentham MA under Judge Gloria Kerr. Amber Hill Wave Rider was RWD.
June 23, 2019- We returned to the New Paltz shows on Sunday and Ch Amber Hill Sea Cruiser had another terrific outing. Victor was BOB over four specials and Herding Group 4 under Judge Cheryl Paterson. Amber Hill Wave Rider was Winners Dog and Best of Winners. My niece Arianna did a great job assisting me on Sunday. The best part of the weekend was visiting with my parents who hosted me. They live half way between the shows and seminar location so that worked out perfect..
June 22, 2019- We skipped entering the shows on Saturday to attend a Grooming and Handling Seminar by Paul and Steve from Mainstay that was hosted by a collie club in Connecticut. The first minute into the seminar I learned that I hold scissors incorrectly and then went on to pick up other good tips throughout the day. The weather and food were both awesome. Thank you Paul and Steve for the Seminar
June 21, 2019- Ch Amber Hill Sea Cruiser has a great day in New Paltz NY. Victor was BOB over five specials for 5pts under Judge James Taylor. He went on to win a Owner Handled Group 1 and Group 3 (47 Dogs Defeated).
May 11, 2019- At the Western Massachusetts Shetland Sheepdog Club shows, Ch Amber Hill Sea Cruiser picked up another 9 GCh points over specials as select dog under both Brian Reid and Dianne Hawes. Amber Hill Wave Rider won Sweeps under breeder Terri Rinaldi.
April 6, 2019- Ch Amber Hill Ocean Jewel is BOB over five quality specials for 5 points under judge Michael Faulkner in Springfield. She also picked up an Owner Handler Group 4.
March 23, 2019 - Northern New Jersey Shetland Sheepdog Club Specialty. Amber Hill Wave Rider is awarded a Specialty Major Reserve loosing to his litter mate Amber Hill Genesis Catch The Wave 'Kai' who was Winners Dog. Kai won 3 majors at this show cluster including two at the Specialties. Kai is owned by Janet Whalen and was handled by Robert Olsen at these shows. Ch Amber Hill Ocean's Jewel was BOS from a quality class of Specials and Owner Handled Group 1. Thank you Judge Larry Stein for the awards to Jewel and hers sons Kai and Wyatt.
February 24, 2019- Amber Hill Wave Rider 'Wyatt' receives a major reserve from the 6-9 month class and Ch Amber hill Ocean's Jewel is BOS under judge Danelle Brown in Springfield MA.
February 23, 2019- Amber Hill Wave Rider 'Wyatt' wins his first point under Marie Ann Falconer from the 6-9 month class. Ch Amber hill Ocean's Jewel returns to the ring to pursue her grand title after a two year hiatus during which she had two litters and recoated. Her offspring include both dogs we have been showing, Ch Amber Hill Sea Cruiser and Amber Hill Wave Rider. Jewel was Select Bitch.
February 2, 2019- The boys had a nice showing under respected Sheltie Judge Tom Coen in Springfield. Ch Amber Hill Sea Cruiser was Select over specials and our 8 month old class dog Amber Hill Wave Rider received a Major Reserve. 13 month old Victor took a 3 month break to recoat after this show.
January 19, 2019 - Our young dog Ch Amber Hill Sea Cruiser had a great outing his first time shown as a Special at the Greater Lowell Kennnel Club Show. Victor was awarded his first Group Placement under Judge Carine Buitendach. He was BOB, Owner Handled Group 2 and Group 3 (73 dogs defeated) picking up his first 4 Gch points

November 23, 2018- New AKC Grand Ch Amber Hill Sea Glass!!! Ch Amber Hill Sea Glass 'Jade' is awarded a BOB and a 5 Point Gch Major at the Thanksgiving Cluster in West Springfield, MA under Judge Mr. James Albrecht to complete her AKC Grand Champion title. This was a great win to finish her Grand as there were 22 dogs including 5 nice Specials entered.
November 23, 2018- New AKC Ch Amber Hill Sea Cruiser!!! Twelve month old Amber Hill Sea Cruiser 'Victor' is awarded a 4 point Major at the Thanksgiving Cluster in West Springfield, MA under Judge Mr. James Albrecht to complete his AKC Champion title. Victor is a fourth generation Champion for us at Amber Hill.
October 13, 2018- At the Northern New Jersey Shetland Sheepdog Club Specialty AM Show, Amber Hill Sea Cruiser 'Victor' is awarded a WD/BOW under judge Kenneth Rayner and Amber Hill Sea Glass was BOS. In the PM Specialty Show, Victor was the WD under Breed Judge Lynette Stewart..
September 30, 2018- Ten month old Amber Hill Sea Cruiser 'Victor' is awarded a 4 point Major at the Wine Country Show in Romulus, NY under Judge Patti Widick Neale. It was rewarding to final get the major after the string of major reserves leading up to it. Amber Hill Ocean Breeze 'Lexi' was BOS.
September 29, 2018- At our first day in the Wine Country Show in Romulus, NY under Judge Pat Trotter, Amber Hill Ocean Breeze 'Lexi' was the Select Bitch.
September 16, 2018- Amber Hill Ocean Breeze 'Lexi is Judge Peter Greens choice for BOB for a GCh Major at the Cape Cod Kennel Club Show. Amber Hill Sea Cruiser 'Victor' is awarded his 4th Major Reserve. Lexi also won an Owner Handled Group 3 under Al Bianchi.
September 15, 2018- Amber Hill Ocean Breeze 'Lexi is the Select Bitch under Diane ONeill at the Cape Cod show on Saturday. Amber Hill Cast Away 'Wilson' is the Reserve Dog.
September 2, 2018- Amber Hill Sea Cruiser 'Victor' repeats his performance at day two of the the Kennebec Shetland Sheepdog Club Specialty under Judge Laura Bounty going WD and BOW for 2 more points. Amber Hill Ocean Breeze was the Select Bitch for a GCh major. We had a wonderful weekend in Maine with the dogs that included some walks and hikes along the shore and the mountain. Also a few cocktails overlooking the Harbor in Camden.

August 26, 2018- Amber Hill Ocean Breeze 'Lexi' is BOB and Amber Hill Sea Cruiser 'Victor' is Winners Dog and Best of Winners under Judge Mrs. Sara Futh at the Elm City Kennel Club show in Springfield MA.
August 10, 2018- Amber Hill Sea Cruiser 'Victor' is awarded Runner Up in Sweeps under Cay Ireland and then his 3rd Specialty Major Reserve under Judge Manuel Queijeiro at the Harrisburg Shetland Sheepdog Club Specialty. He was also Runner Up in Sweeps under Bella Thompson the following day. Victor received several nice compliments from some of the Sheltie Handlers and Breeders in attendance.
July 29, 2018- At the Providence KC show, under Mrs. Clark, Amber Hill Sea Cruiser 'Victor' is awarded Winners Dog, Best of Winners and Best of Opposite, He also goes on to win Owner Handler Group 3. This puppy loves to show and is a lot of fun. Amber Hill Cast Away 'Wilson' receives Reserve WD. Ch. Amber Hill Ocean Breeze 'Lexi' receives Select Bitch.

July8, 2018- Under breeder judge, Joanne Chaplek, Amber Hill Sea Cruiser 'Victor' is awarded Reserve, Best of Breed Puppy and gets a Puppy Group 2. Amber Hill Sea Glass 'Jade' is awarded Best of Breed and gets a Owner Handler Group 2.
June 3, 2018- At the Ladies Dog Club show, under judge Robert Vandiver, Amber Hill Cast Away 'Wilson' is awarded a 4 point major from the 9-12 months class. Ch. Amber Hill Ocean Breeze 'Lexi' is a awarded Select Bitch and Amber Hill Sea Glass 'Jade' is awarded Best of Breed and then goes in the Herding group and is awarded a Group 4, under Robert Vandiver. June 1, 2018-- Colonial Shetland Sheepdog Club Specialties- Sweeps judge Megan Nelson, Amber Hill Sea Cruiser 'Victor" at just a little over 6 months gets Best in Sweeps. Under the morning show judge, Glenda Henson, Victor is awarded a major Specialty Major Reserve. Ch. Amber Hill Ocean Breeze, 'Lexi' is awarded Select Bitch. Under the afternoon judge, Joanne Chaplek, Victor is again awarded a Specialty Major Reserve. We are thrilled with how well Victor did at his first shows and again thank you to the judges for the awards,. Ch. Amber Hill Sea Glass 'Jade' is awarded Best of Opposite.

2017 Retrospective
2017 was an outstanding year for us at Amber Hill. The first half the year was spent settling into our new home in the country that we relocated to for the dogs. In the second half of 2017 we got more involved on the show circuit and had a lot of fun and success. We put five majors on our dogs and finished three champions all breeder owner handled. We had particularly great time showing our new champion Amber Hill Ocean Breeze who won 3 majors and 3 major reserves.

Hill Ocean Jewel, Jewel was awarded WB, BOW for a 3 Point Specialty Major under breeder Judge Judith Bryne at the AM Specialty at Kennebec Valley SSC. It was a great feeling for us to finish her championship with a Specialty Major after coming close 3 previous times with Specialty Major Reserves. Her championship was also gratifying to us because we had to wait close to a year without showing her for her coat to regrow after being badly chewed on by a puppy. 9/17/16 - Our newest addition, 8 month old 'Amber Hill Ocean Breeze', went to her first shows this weekend in Cape Cod. She had a nice debut by winning WB on Saturday for a point under Judge Fred Bassett. The judge commented that he thinks she may turn out better than our special 'Pearl'. Amber Hill Ocean Breeze is by MBISS GChB Laureate Invincible x Amber Hill Sea Glass. Pearl was BOS.
9/4/16 - MBISS GChB Amber Hill Ocean's Pearl wins her 5th career BISS at the Sunday Maine Specialty Show. Pearl was sharp and full of vigor on Sunday because she was jealous of her daughters Jade and Jewel who were shown first. Her daughter Amber Hill Sea Glass was the recipient of a Specialty Major Reserve. This was her third Specialty reserve. Overall a nice weekend in Maine with great food and good weather. This destination has become a favorite get away for us.
9/3/16 - MBISS GChB Amber Hill Ocean's Pearl received a Select at the Saturday Maine Specialty show. Pearls Daughters sat tout the Saturday show because they were not majors.
8/28/16 - The two Amber Hill girls repeated the previous days performance at West Springfield, this time under judge Dr. Albert Bianchi. MBISS GChB Amber Hill Oceans Pearl was BOB, Owner Handled Group 1, and made the cut in the regular group. Amber Hill Sea Glass 'Jade' was Winners Bitch for 2 points.
8/27/16 - At her next show outing in West Springfield, MBISS GChB Amber Hill Oceans Pearl teamed up with another one of her daughters, Amber Hill Sea Glass 'Jade'. Pearl won BOB and a 3rd Owner Handled Group 1 from a field of 12 herding dogs. She also made the cut in the regular group. Jade made her first show appearance in well over a year after taking time off to whelp a litter and came away with 2 Points as the Winners Bitch under Judge Stephanie Hedgepath.
7/31/16 - MBISS GChB Amber Hill Oceans Pearl was the BOB winner on day 2 at the Rhode Island shows. Her daughter Jewel did not compete because the 2 points on Saturday gave her all the minor points she can use in her championship quest. Jewel is now looking for an opportunity to get her 2nd major. Pearl continued showing well in the Owner Handled competition winning another Owner Handled Group 1.
7/30/16 - Amber Hill Ocean Jewel continued her good luck winning points at her third show in a row at the Providence County Kennel Club in RI. Jewel was Best of Breed over 3 specials including her mother under judge Sandra Walker. Pearl won an owner Handled Group 3.
7/10/16 - The girls repeated their performance of the day before in Springfield. Amber Hill Oceans Jewel was Winners Bitch and MBISS GCh. Amber Hill Oceans Pearl was BOS under Judge Murrel Purkhiser. We got to have some additional fun with Pearl as she also won a Owner Handled Group 1 from a field of 15 herding dogs.
7/9/16 - Amber Hill Oceans Jewel wins 2 points by taken Winners Bitch with strong competition at the Farmington Valley Kennel Club show in West Springfield under Col. Joe B. Purkhiser. MBISS GCh. Amber Hill Oceans Pearl was BOS.
6/25/16 - Cumberland ME Show: MBISS GCh. Amber Hill Oceans Pearl was BOS under Barbara Dempsey Alderman over nice specials. Pearl also won a Bred By Exhibitor Herding Group 1. Pearl says thanks to our fellow sheltie enthusiast for all the cheers in the Bred By Best in Show competition.
06/05/16 - Ladies Kennel Club: On day three of the cluster MBISS GCh Amber Hill Oceans Pearl was again awarded BOS.
06/04/16 - Ladies Kennel Club Supported Show: Amber Hill Oceans Jewel was chosen for a Major Reserve by Judge Steven Gladstone for the second day in a row from a large entry of nice bitches. Jewel keeps just missing out on the second major as this is her 5th Major Reserve. 'MBISS GCh Amber Hill Oceans Pearl' was put up as BOS for another GCh major.
06/03/16 - Colonial Shetland Sheepdog Club Spring Specialty Show: Amber Hill Oceans Jewel was awarded a Major Reserve by Judge Jean Simmonds. This was Jewels 3rd Major Specialty Reserve under sheltie breeder judges. Her Mother, 'MBISS GCh Amber Hill Oceans Pearl' was chosen for a major select from a nice group of specials.
04/17/16 - MBISS GCh Amber Hill Ocean Pearl went back out after recoating from her last litter. She was awarded BOS by Judge Tom Coen at the Warwick RI show..

01/9/16 - Amber Hill Ocean Jewel got back to showing after taking the fall off to put on a new coat. She went Reserve Bitch from an entry of eight under Judge George Marquis at the Merrimack Valley KC.
2015 Retrospective
The first half of 2015 was exceptional for us at Amber Hill. We put five majors on our dogs, finished two champions and Pearl reached her Bronze Level Grand Champion with 100 GCh points, all breeder owner handled. Our Frat Boy/Pearl litter mates were the highlight of the year for us sweeping several shows by winning both WD and WB, combining for 4 majors and 3 Specialty Major Reserves. 'Amber Hill Surfer Boy' became our third generation Champion. We went to our first National Dog show in Virginia and had a great time hanging out with friends, meeting new people and learning more about Shelties. The second half the year we took a break from showing to do some breeding and let our dogs recoat. We are looking forward to 2016 with several hopefuls maturing.

8/16/15 - Amber Hill Surfer Boy 'Carlito' and His Sister Amber Hill Ocean Jewel went WD and WB at consecutive shows to win another 2 points each at the Wachusett Kennel Club show under Judge Michael Faulkner. This was the third time they combined to win both Winners Dog and Winner Bitch at the same show.
07/26/15 - Amber Hill Surfer Boy 'Carlito' and His Sister Amber Hill Ocean Jewel followed up on day two of the Providence County Kennel Club topping the previous day by both winning Majors. Carlito won his 3rd Major and Jewel won her 1st major by going BOW over her brother under Judge Mr. Wayne Gurin. These two young littermates by MBISS GCh Amber Hill Ocean's Pearl and MBIS/BISS GCh Grandgables the Frat Boy have been a lot of fun for us to show.
07/25/15 - Amber Hill Surfer Boy 'Carlito' wins his 2nd Major for 4 points. The puppies had a great day at the Providence County Kennel Club under Judge Mr. Steven D. Gladstone. His sister Amber Hill Ocean Jewel was the Reserve Bitch.

05/16/15 - CH Amber Hill Seastar finished her Championship by winning her second major under Judge Dr. Eric Liebes at the Vacationland Dog Show in Maine. She was picked as the Winners Bitch from an outstanding class of entries that included other Specialty Show winners. Star was owner/breeder handled to all her points. Star is the second Champion produced by Jade Mist Amber Hill Seabreeze 'Chowder '. Thank you Carol Howell at Jade Mist for Momma Chowder.

5/16/15 - 13 Month old Amber Hill Surfer Boy wins a 3 Point Major under Dr. Eric Liebes at the Vacationland Dog Show in Maine. It was an extra special day at Amber Hill to have dogs we bred and handled take both Winners Dog and Winners Bitch for 2 majors at the same show. Judge Dr. Eric Liebes was surprised to find out that we were together and both his winners were from the same kennel because we each handled a different dog. He commented during the pictures that at least he was consistent in what he likes.
04/25/15 - We spent the week at the ASSA National in Fredericksburg VA and had a great time visiting with all our show friends and meeting some new ones that share our same passion for the Shetland Sheepdog. Three dogs that we bred made cuts in their classes. Our Grand Champion Amber Hill Oceans Pearl made two cuts and was one of the final 25 champions left from a BOB listed entry of 186. We received nice compliments on our dogs from several sheltie Breeder/Judges in attendance. The best part of the event was the opportunity to see and go over several potential studs we hope to use in the future at Amber Hill.
04/12/15 - We had a good weekend at the Rhode Island Kennel Club Shows. On Saturday, Amber Hill Surfer Boy won WD/BOW and his sister Amber Hill Oceans Jewel won WB, each for a point. On Sunday they each won reserve. Their mother Amber Hill Oceans Pearl won BOS on both days.
04/04/15 - At the Tri-State Specialty Shows, Amber Hill Surfer Boy won a Major Specialty Reserve under Sheltie Breeder/Judge Robin McTaggat. His mother, Amber Hill Oceans Pearl, won major selects in both the morning and afternoon shows. Star, Jewel and Carlito were one of a few dogs pulled out for run offs for Winners but came up short.
02/7/15 - Pearl picks up another Grand Champion point and wins an Owner Handled Group 1 over a large class of herding dogs at the First Company Governor's Foot Guard Athletic Association show.
02/01/2015 - Our 10 month old puppy bitch, Amber Hill Ocean's Jewel, competed Saturday at Great Barrington Kennel Club show and was awarded Reserve Winners Bitch. Her mother Pearl competed on Saturday and Sunday and picked up 3 GCh points by going BOB and Select. This was the 20th BOB for Amber Hill Ocean's Pearl.

01/03/15 and 01/04/15- We joined the show circuit again after taking a break for the holidays. Amber Hill Oceans Pearl wins her 10th and 11th Grand Champion majors going BOS on Saturday and BOB on Sunday for a total of 7 Grand Champion points at the Merrimack Valley KC shows in Springfield MA.

Amber Hill Surfer Boy was chosen for BOS in Sweeps by Ms. Diane Gregoire. Star and Jade had an outstanding day competing with an entry of 17 Bitches under Sheltie Judge Mr. George M. Vukich. They were both pulled from the Winners Bitch Class for a runoff with Star edging out Jade for the major. Immediately following, Pearl entered the ring for the BOB competition and won Best In Specialty Show (5 GCh points) from a total entry of 38 including 9 specials. This was Pearls 4th BISS. Stars win was a surprise because she had shed most of her coat leading up to the show and we almost didn't enter her. Thank you Judge Vukich for looking past the shedding coat to judge the complete dog.
11/21/2014 - 'Amber Hill Sea Glass' is awarded a Major Reserve for Winners Bitch from an entry of 16 by Judge Neena Van Camp. Her Mother 'Amber Hill Oceans Pearl' was chosen for BOB from a total entry of 34 including 7 specials. This was a 5 point GCh Major for Pearl. She also got an owner handled Group 4.

11/02/2014 - Our 'Pearl/Brother' puppies had a big day at the CSSC Sweeps and Match from the 6-9 month class. 'Amber Hill Surfer Boy' was awarded Best in Sweeps and Best in Match. His sister, 'Amber Hill Ocean's Jewel', was awarded Runner Up in Sweeps and Best of Opposite in the Match. Thank you Judges Susan Morris and Janet Whalen.
10/26/14 - At the Riverhead KC Show, under Ann Yuhasz, Jade 'Amber Hill Sea Glass', was awarded WB and BOW for another point. Her mother, Pearl was BOB for 2 more Grand Champion points.
10/5/14 - One of our new hopefuls, 'Amber Hill Surfer Boy', won Sweeps at the Interstate Shetland Sheepdog Club Specialty in Macungie PA under sheltie breeder Ellen Russell. This was a very exciting win for us because of the large quality entry and top handlers he was competing with.
9/21/2014 - Pearls puppies did really well at the Western Massachusetts Shetland Sheepdog Specialty Sweeps and Match. 'Amber Hill Surfer Boy' won the Best in Sweeps under Mrs. Charlotte Mierzwa. His sister, 'Amber Hill Ocean's Jewel', won Best in Match under judge Elizabeth Hildreth. Surfer Boy was Best of Opposite in the match to his sister. Both puppies showed very well for their young age and went home with some nice prizes including new beds.
9/14/2014 - The girls had the same result on Sunday with Jade winning another point for WB and Pearl winning BOB and Owner Handled Group 2. Nice weekend on the cape. I got to do some fishing between the shows and some of our family stopped by to cheer the dogs on.
9/13/2014 - Jade 'Amber Hill Sea Glass' won a point going WB in Cape Cod. Her Mother, 'Amber Hill Oceans Pearl' was entered in her first show of the year after taking time off to whelp a litter. Pearl was BOB and won an Owner Handled Group 2.

6/28/2014 - Two of Pearls puppies that we are growing out went to the Tri-State Shetland Sheepdog match for some fun and practice. Amber Hill Surfer Boy (Carlito) won both Best in Sweeps and Best in Match. His sister, Amber Hill Oceans 'Jewel', was Best of opposite in both the Sweeps and Match. It was a great day for a picnic and get together with Sheltie enthusiasts.
3/25/14 - MBISS GCh Amber Hill Ocean's 'Pearl' gives birth to 3 Boys and a girl.
3/15/14 - Amber Hill Sea Star wins the Bred by class's in both the morning and afternoon Baltimore Specialty shows. Jade was 2nd out of 6 from the 12-16 month class at both shows. It was a good day socializing with all the breeders and the girls received a lot of nice compliments from competitors and judges.
2/24/14 - MBISS GCh Amber Hill Ocean's 'Pearl' had an ultrasound today that confirmed her pregnancy. If all goes well she is scheduled to give birth March 25th. Pearl was Bred to Multiple BIS/BISS GCh Grandgables The Frat Boy, 'Brother'. Brother is currently the #1 winning sheltie and recently won the Breed at Westminster. We are very excited and looking forward to the litter from these two beautiful dogs. Thank you to Brothers owner Pamela Buckles and Handler Sarah Krickeberg for working with us to make the breeding possible.
2/23/14 - We attended the CSSC meeting which was followed by a hands on seminar for structure put on by Breeder Judges Kim and Carolyn from Foxglove Shelties. It was very informative and we left with a better understanding of structure and how it relates to movement.

01/05/14 - Amber Hill Shelties kicked off the new year with hopeful Jade 'Amber Hill Sea Glass' winning her first point from the 9-12 mo puppy class under Judge Mr. Robert Vandiver at the Merrimack Valley KC show in West Springfield. She has had a nice start taking 2 reserves and WB in her first three shows. Even though this young girl can be a challenge to handle due to her playfulness, her sweetheart personality makes her a lot of fun. Pearl also picked up two more GCh points at the shows.
11/30/13 - Pearl and Jade repeated their previous days performance in the CSSC supported entry at Worcester MA by winning BOB (Pearl) and Reserve WB (Jade) under Sheltie Judge Linda More. Jade was a handful to show with her inexperience and puppy attitude at full force. At the end of the down and back she jumped on the judge to give her a lick.
11/29/13 - Pearl wins her third BISS!!!! At Colonial Shetland Sheepdog Club Winter Specialty, MBISS GCh Amber Hill Ocean's Pearl went Best In Specialty Show under Sheltie Breed Judge Charlotte McGowan for 3 more points.

10/27/13 - MBISS GCh Amber Hill Ocean's Pearl finished off her big weekend by repeating BOB over specials under Judge Thomas Coen for 2 more points. She was included in the group cut but did not place. She has won BOB in her last 4 shows.

Pearl finished her Grand Champion title by being pointed in 12 of 15 shows for 28 Gch points, including 5 majors and 2 BISS. She managed to accomplish this 11 months after her Champion title which is a relatively short time considering she took off 7 of those months to whelp a litter. All 'Pearls' points have been breeder owner handled.
10/26/13 - MBISS Ch Amber Hill Ocean's Pearl won BOB over 3 Specials to complete her Grand Championship under Judge Ms. Louise Palarik in the Queensboro Kennel Club show at West Springfield Ma. 'Pearl' topped off her day by winning a Group 3 Placement.
10/20/13 - The girls had a second good day in Springfield at the Troy Kennel Club Show under Judge Dana Cline. Amber Hill Sea Star won WB and a BBE Group 3 bringing her to the maximum number of 9 minor points. She will be looking for majors going forward. MBISS Ch Amber Hill Ocean's Pearl repeated Saturdays performance by winning BOB.
10/19/13 - Pearl and Star competed in the Albany Kennel Club show at West Springfield Ma. and both had a good day going against a small but competitive Sheltie entry that included specialty winners. Amber Hill Sea Star won WB and BOW for 1 point and Ch Amber Hill Ocean's Pearl won BOB for another grand Champion point under Judge Mrs. Thora Brown.
10/06/13 - We took our puppies to an all breed match put on by St Hubert Kennel Club in North Stonington Ct. We also brought along Star for some show practice. Everyone had a good time and Amber Hill Sea Star surprised us by Winning both 'Best Adult in Match' and 'Best Overall' when she went up against the winning puppy. She won some nice dog toys that the puppies stole from her.
9/01/13 - Ch Amber Hill Ocean's Pearl returned to the ring this weekend for the first time in 6 months since her litter. Her coat has been growing back in nice and we felt she finally looked good enough to take out to a show. Pearl won two more Grand Champion majors with a Select and a BOB (BISS) at the Downeast Shetland Sheepdog Club Specialties bringing her closer to her Grand Champion Title.
7/28/13 - Amber Hill Sea Star showed well for Ann at Providence County Kennel Club taking WB, and BOS for 1 point under judge Mrs. Peggy Beisel-McIlwaine. Star has had a good year at the local RI shows winning a point in 4 of the 6 shows she entered. Roy Showed 'Blu Vu Aurora Borealis' for our friend Karen Manchester (Blu Vu Shelties) and took reserve.
7/19/13 - Amber Hill Sea Star takes Reserve Bitch in Stormville NY under Judge Janina Laurin. The dog show was a side trip this weekend as the main purpose of our NY visit was to celebrated Ann's mothers birthday. Happy 87th Birthday to Dorothy Ellsworth.

04/05/13 - We had a nice day at the Tri-State Specialty Show and enjoyed the company of our breeder friends. Our girls held their own placing 2nd in their classes in the morning show and winning their classes in the afternoon. Amber Hill Sea Star won the Bred By Class and Jade Mist Amber Hill Seabreeze 'Chowder' the Open Sable Class under judge Dianne Hawes.
02/10/13 - At day two of the great Barrington Kennel Club Show in Springfield Ma, Amber Hill Sea Star was given BOW for 2 points and Ch Amber Hill Ocean's Pearl was awarded a 2 point BOS by Breeder Judge Tom Coen (see Photo). This was a great weekend for our 'Chowder' daughters, especially 'Star' who is just returning to the ring after her litter last year.
02/09/13 - At day one of the great Barrington Kennel Club Show in Springfield Ma, Ch Amber Hill Ocean's Pearl was awarded a 2 point select and Amber Hill Sea Star was given WB Reserve by Judge Eric Ringle.
01/09/13 - We made a trip out to Hamburg NY where we did a breeding (details upon confirmation of pregnancy), visited our son at RIT, and showed Pearl one day and Chowder two days. Ch Amber Hill Ocean's Pearl was awarded BOS for a 2 point Select from Judge Donna Buxton. Chowder was handled by Julie Desy on Thursday for a Reserve from Judge Jon Cole. As a bonus to our tip we also got to eat Authentic Buffalo Wings at Duff's and learned a few grooming tips from Julie.
01/05/13 - After taking a break for the Holidays, Ch Amber Hill Ocean's Pearl is awarded a 1 point Select from Judge David Bolus in Fitchburg MA in her return to the ring.
What a week for Pearl! She finished her Championship by winning a 3 point major out of Bred By Class and after moving up in her next three shows won was awarded 3 Grand Champion Majors and 9 Grand Champion Points and a BISS!!!
